I saw this picture of Katherine and I just felt inspired. It took me a while to get all the layers of the hair right. My brother suggested I needed some highlights on the skin. I had never done highlights before. They are much harder to get to look natural than shadow. I ignored his advice, even though he was kinda right. I eventually framed this for Katherine for Xmas '07.

As a style note, I played with the gradient mesh tool for the lantern in the background. The wall texture was done in Photoshop along withe the lens flare. My brother hates lens flare.
