Tri Knot

Prev Next

I was still puttsing around with Celtic knots. I doodled something like this while on a trip to Portland. I worked it up later when I got home. I made these the long way too. I could make it much faster now.

Quantized

I was making circular Celtic knots and so I had made the dotted frame work. In the middle of making a new knot I thought it looked like an atom model. So I added a nucleus and the word "Quantized". It's a cool word.

South Middle School Logo

I made the after portion while doing my student teaching work there. They had the before one on their website! I was appalled and begged their webmaster to allow me to fix the image. They told me to go right ahead. I have no clue what the person who make the first one was thinking. I think they are still using my image. Well, they are, but they improperly converted it to a jpg somewhere along the line. Why did they do that? What was wrong with the gif? I guess the color didn't match the site remodeling so they changed it. But why? It's not like the header text color matches the color of the navigation buttons. My file color is pretty close to the buttons, just a hint darker. I also notice that they reduced the size of the image from 114px by 116px to 102px by 102px? Why?!?!?! What was to gain by shaving off those 14px of height? And if you're gonna shrink it, why not go to something normal like 100px? Fools! I have half a mind to e-mail them a correction. I'm really tempted.

I couldn't resist. Shortly after writing this I had to fix it. I emailed them the new one. Time will tell if they choose to accept it.

Kung-Fu Tourette Boy

I was bored when I made this. I made it some time after Chuck and I made the script to the Kung-Fu Tourette Boy skit. Pretty funny. I think I was testing to seeing how my cartoon people skills had improved.

This is another one that I made after I doodled it by hand. This one is dead on the same as the doodle. I eventually turned it into an icon, which for some reason has been the icon I use for my games folder for the past 6 years.

I made this one on campus while I was waiting for a friend to finish up their work. I think the dog might have been to much. It was added more as an after thought.

Keep it Cool!

I'd rather try to keep warm right now. I made this one based off a doodle I did by hand. It's pretty much the same as the doodle, other than the color being added and a typeface being used.

I think I made this one after the move to the Broadway apartment. I was just dinkin' around. Again, not the original typefaces, but at least they are close this time. I like what I did with the floor, though I'm not sure I should have added grout.

Alison's Lamp

Prev Next

When I made this I was on a kick of making lamp shades out of paper and wooden dowels. Alison like the one I had at the time(plain dodecahedron) and ask if I could make one for her, but with a fantasy design. I decided to make hers an icosahedron shape. Printing it was a nightmare. I don't even want to go into it. The final pictures are here, on the bottom. I can't take credit for the cartoon characters. I can take credit for the butterfly and plant life though.

Lunch!

This was all done free hand. It is mainly me playing with ellipses. I love the pop top. The word "lunch" was in a different typeface but I lost it and at the time didn't think much of converting text to outlines.

Wow, this sucks. It was one my first attempts at making my face "all cartoony". I added the words and stuff a little later when I was bored. It just seemed to fit after I added the mustache. I also should have added a "Dr" or maybe a "PhD"

This is the first thing I ever made in Illustrator. I was learning what all the tools did and was becoming accustomed to how they worked. I used this picture because it was easy to trace. I'm surprised at how well it turned out.
